Species Description – Virus Wolves (human name) Virus Beasts (other races’ name)

General description:

Standing at exactly 7 feet, 9 and 3/4 inches, these giant wolf like beasts are covered in black fur, except their chest and stomach, which has heavily fortified plated scales. They stand on digitigrade legs and have short but thick heavy tails. They have long very sharp claws on their hands and feet and large saber teeth coming form their maw. Each and every virus wolf is genetically identical. The most notable feature is very obvious, they extremely large testicles hanging from the crotch, above it, a large sheath housing an 21 inch knotted penis. These beasts are exceptional strong and able to use their claws and strength to rip another person or alien apart in seconds.

Reproduction:

This is the defining feature of the species. Each and every virus wolf is male, and genetically the same creature. They reproduce by having sex with ANY creature. The semen does not contain sperm, but a genetic virus that converts any organism it enters into one of the beasts. Generally any living organism can be mated with and turned into a new virus wolf. Notably, when a sentient being is infected, the personality, thoughts, and memories of that individual remain. This includes dragon and their elemental abilities, but transformation of a powerful dragon has not yet been document, only the rumors of it existing in a single case so far. The giant testicles of the creature do not create sperm, but rather they are virus factories, releasing virus not only into the ejaculate but also the bloodstream and eventually every bodily fluid of the creature. Accidental exposure to blood, saliva, tears, urine, or feces may also cause transformation. Delivery is typically by method of the creatures unusually large penis. The knot inflates at climax and prevents it’s victim from escaping.

It is important to note the original infecting species is NOT a sentient race, however it has now infected sentient races, and those infected from those races remain sentient.

First Exposure:

In 2108, a science team aboard the Castle Science group ship, Cerberus landed on a planet to study potential for human habitation. It was found to mostly benign, and initially noted only plant life. However 3 days into exploration a team of 5 scientist was attacked by a small pack of the creatures. 2 were eaten while the remaining 3 were <redacted>. Upon return to the landed ship they explained to the crew what had happened and the ship lifted off back to Earth. During the return trip the 3 victims started reporting flu like symptoms and were isolated. Their transformation took 4 weeks, long before the ship returned to earth. Surprisingly the scientist remained the same in personality, and actually started working on a cure while on the return trip, even as the large beasts. After 3 years at maximum warp the ship returned but was not allowed to land for over a year while the risks were assessed.

Other Exposures:

While working with the transformed scientists, a 4rth carelessly got blood on an exposed wound and was transformed 3 weeks later. A note, that his wife was transformed 6 months later. Presumably through sexual contact.

Before laws were passed prohibiting transformation, a volunteer was selected to be transformed, and it was performed "traditionally". The transformation was very closely studied and monitored and much was learned. Unfortunately the research did not yield a cure, and that volunteer is still transformed.

Transformation process: (human)

Day 1, strong flu like symptoms take over as the human immune system goes into full protection mode, heavy fever, nausea and vomiting, running nose, difficulty breathing, severe muscle pain.

Day 3: This is the second fastest part of the transformation. If the victim is male, the testicles have already been converted to virus factories. If female, the ovaries have been converted and start descending. Now that the virus has a means of fast reproduction in the body, it starts the conversion further.

End of week 1: still appearing mostly human, the testicles have exploded in size and the other infection genitals have started to form. In females the genitals have nearly completely changed to male like appearance. Patients report no pain now, the virus has removed the pain receptors of the entire body.

End of week 2: the genitals have completely transformed and infection transmission through sexual contact is now possible. The genitals appear extremely large compared to the human. Fur has started to grow on the back. The face has begun to contort towards the wolf like structure. The patients studied state at this time their sex drive is out of control, the feel the urge to “breed anything they can reach” and are frequently masturbating to curb the urge. Unfortunately this creates a risk of infection from the virus-semen being frequently produced. They have usually gain at least a foot in height now.

Week 3: This final stage of the transformation is the fastest. The patient will reach their final height in that week. The body will become covered and fur and the plate scales on the front of the body has formed. The tail has protruded and the arms have grown longer in relation to the body. Their appetite is insatiable for this week and essentially never stop eating to gain the mass the virus demands. The head is now completely formed to the wolf like appearance complete with the signature large saber teeth and large canine like ears.

Week 4: the transformation is complete and every organ except the brain has been changed. The process seems irreversible, the only genetic material left of the original person is deep within the brain. The voice becomes extremely deep, and are capable of roaring and making other noises humans cannot, but are still able to speak english very clearly. Hearing is exceptional, now able to hear even the faintest of noises and outside the normal hearing frequencies. The sens of smell has increased in sensitivity as well.

While the virus was studied it became clear that the virus wolf itself and the virus are two separate organisms. The virus needs a host, and turns whatever biology it can infect into the perfect host to protect and feed it. It is still not known why the virus doesn’t change the brain itself, some science groups have considered that the virus itself is somewhat sentient, at least enough to know what it is doing to the host body.

This was evidenced further by the creatures’ incredible ability to heal. When a part of the body is damaged the virus concentrates on that area of the body and converts cells at an alarming rate. Simple scrapes me heal completely in hours, broken bones in days, and limbs regrow in a couple weeks. In one experiment a liver was removed, and it had found to have been regrown 2 weeks later.

Meanwhile the conscious host returned to almost a normal life, as normal as a nearly 8 foot tall beast can life. Currently the 6 converted humans live under close surveillance in a closed containment area. Noted was the still increased sex drive, and although they otherwise live eat and speak as a human, they are often fornicating with each other several times daily.

Eventually an inoculation was designed, but only works if used within the first 12 hours, and only if a small amount of the virus was exposed. Regular delivery (having sex with one) produces too much of the virus and it cannot be stopped. Also noted was the extended lifespan, after 250 years the original 3 scientists are still alive. This eventually lead to a “fountain of youth” situation where several rich individuals sought out becoming converted, then illegally selling their semen to convert others.

As of 2350 there are thought to be a population of about 10,000 of these virus wolves hidden among the population. In addition there may now be millions spread throughout the galaxy. Some who were transformed accidentally insist on living among the people, and following strict guidelines were eventually allowed to. Initially humans converted to these beast were no longer considered human and often denied rights, but long legal battles actually had them classified as humans, but with a permanent illness.

Typically those wishing to be turned do it by drinking their blood (or other fluids) rather then being sodomized.

Due to their enhanced healing and large strong bodies some small unfavorable groups purposely transformed themselves and then began to hire out as mercenaries.

Additional populations of them are also now known to live among other races as well.
